Ver es otro paso distinto de la comunicación visual. Es el proceso de absorber información dentro del sistema nervioso a través de los ojos, del sentido de la vista.
Este proceso y esta capacidad es común a todas las personas en mayor o menor grado, y encuentra su significancia en el significado compartido. Los dos pasos, el ver y el diseñar y / o la confección son interdependientes tanto para el significado en sentido general como para el mensaje en el caso de que se intente responder a una comunicación especifica. Las posibles variantes de una declaración visual que se ajuste exactamente a esta descripción son literalmente infinitas. Esas variaciones dependen de la expresión subjetiva del artista vía el énfasis sobre ciertos elementos en favor de otros y la manipulación de aquellos elementos mediante la elección estratégica de técnicas. Así como en el caso de que el operador deba disponer formas en un espacio no modulado, éste se encuentra con muchas incertidumbres sobre el lugar en donde ha de detener las formas, en cambio, en una superficie modulada tiene el apoyo del módulo que le obliga a tomar en consideración la superficie entera y le ofrece relaciones precisas entre los elementos que ha de disponer, alcanzando así una mejor seguridad de acción.
Pensemos que incluso la música, que parece la más libre de las artes, está estrictamente modulada en el tiempo, sin que esta modulación limite su expresión. Con la condensación de texturas han aparecido formas, según hemos visto por las investigaciones que los estudiantes han hecho en la lección precedente, y nosotros, de momento, vamos a considerar las formas elementales tales como el circulo, el cuadrado, el triángulo.
